Helping you navigate the digital landscape
About us
Last Frontier Consulting helps individuals and organizations navigate the digital landscape (our common last frontier). We help you work with your organization’s information in the best possible way, by meeting compliance requirements, ensuring security and optimizing the way you use your information assets. We help organizations embrace best practices, innovative technologies, and evidence-based solutions to ensure you reach your goals on time and on budget.
Our values
Last Frontier Consulting is invested in the North. We work and live in Yukon and understand the needs, impacts and limitations north of the 60th parallel. In addition to our for-profit work, we regularly conduct research, investigations and provide submissions in the public interest. On a limited basis we are available to provide pro bono consultation and security/privacy training for nonprofits that benefit Yukoners.
Our core business
We combine our understanding of public administration and good governance with our knowledge of northern, rural and remote living, extensive privacy and information security knowledge, and solid investigative and research skills to ensure we offer you the best possible solutions and services.
Our Services
The Basics
We help you to become compliant with legal requirements pertaining to privacy, information security, information management, as well as contract related requirements that may apply to your operations.
Beyond Compliance
We help you optimize your processes so that they work for you: we strive not just for a compliance check mark, but for intelligent functioning controls and processes.
Protecting what’s important
A risk based approach is at the core of our service model. We help you identify which assets are important to you, and we help you protect these in cost-efficient and user-friendly manner.
Meeting you where you are at
-
We provide services for a fixed time or effort project (e.g. conducting a Privacy Impact Assessment, a Security Threat and Risk assessment, or a Penetration test).
-
A monthly retainer allows you to have a specialist on speed-dial. We provide advice or services on an as needed/on-call basis (e.g. incident investigations).
-
If you only have an occasional question or are in need of a sparring partner on an ad-hoc basis, an hourly ‘punch-card’ is just what you need.
-
One of the perks of living and working in the North: we get to make our own rules. This means that we can tailor any project and payment plan exactly to your needs.
